Hangwise Privacy Policy
Hangwise (“Hangwise,” “we,” “us”) is a mobile app from Code Crafted Nexus LLC, a Kentucky limited liability company. Hangwise uses artificial intelligence to help you screen incoming phone calls and avoid scam and spam calls. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and sign-in details when you create an account.
Phone number. The phone number you register for call screening.
Call information. For calls screened by Hangwise: the caller’s phone number, the date, time and length of the call, and the screening result (for example, “likely scam” or “allowed”).
Call audio. When Hangwise screens a call, it processes what the caller says in real time so the AI can decide whether the call looks like a scam. We do not store call recordings or transcripts.
Device and usage information. App version, device type, operating system, and basic diagnostic and crash information.
Payment information. If you subscribe, payments are handled by our payment provider, Paddle. We do not receive or store your full card number.
2. How we use information
- To screen calls, flag scams, and show you the results.
- To provide, secure, and improve Hangwise.
- To manage your account and subscription and respond to support requests.
- To detect fraud and abuse and to comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your call content to show you advertising.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Hangwise, and only as needed for their service:
- Telephony provider: Twilio, which connects and screens calls.
- Cloud hosting and database: Supabase.
- AI processing: Anthropic, whose AI models analyze what the caller says in order to screen the call.
- Payments: Paddle.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a business sale or merger. We will tell you if that changes who holds your information.
4. Callers and call recording laws
Hangwise may answer or screen calls on your behalf. Laws about recording or monitoring calls differ by state and country, and some require every party’s consent. Hangwise tells every caller that the call is being screened by an automated assistant before screening starts. You are responsible for using Hangwise in line with the laws that apply to you.
5. How long we keep information
Call history (the caller’s number, the date, time and length of the call, and the screening result) is kept for about 30 days, unless you delete it sooner. We do not keep call recordings or transcripts. Account information is kept until you delete your account. When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymize it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
6. Your choices and rights
- You can view and delete your call history in the app.
- You can delete your account and associated data by emailing support@hangwise.app or from within the app.
- Depending on where you live (for example, California and other U.S. states), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to correct or delete it, to receive a copy, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To use these rights, email us. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Hangwise is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
